JetFuelTenders has been admitted to the Strategic Partnership Program of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), reinforcing our commitment to standards-based jet fuel tendering for the world's commercial airlines.
IATA represents approximately 290 airlines accounting for 82 percent of total air traffic. The Strategic Partnership Program brings together the industry segments that surround commercial aviation - technology providers, fuel marketers, financial services, and infrastructure - to share innovation and contribute to industry-wide standards.
Standards-based tendering, finally on a platform
The IATA Fuel Tender Standard (FTS) defines a common XML schema for tender invitations, bid submissions, awards, and round progressions. Adoption has historically been held back by the fact that most airlines and suppliers still run tenders through email and spreadsheets - the standard exists, but the systems to use it well don't.
JetFuelTenders implements the IATA FTS natively. Airlines can export tender invitations and award decisions in standards-compliant XML for direct integration with their ERP or fuel management systems. Suppliers can ingest and respond using the same schema across every airline customer they work with. The result is a tendering process that's faster, more accurate, and auditable end-to-end.
Why this matters now
Airline fuel procurement is one of the largest line items in commercial aviation, and the volatility of the post-2022 energy market has put renewed pressure on procurement teams to defend every award. Indexed pricing, payment-term economics, SAF mandate compliance, and multi-supplier consolidation are no longer edge cases - they're routine.
A modern, standards-based tender platform turns these from manual spreadsheet exercises into structured, comparable workflows. Joining IATA's Strategic Partnership Program lets us collaborate directly with the airlines and working groups defining where the standards go next.
What's next
Several airlines are now running live tenders on the platform, with bid volumes and supplier participation that exceed our pre-launch projections. The team will be at the next IATA Aviation Fuel Forum to meet airline procurement teams and fuel suppliers in person.
